Abby Broughton's Fundraiser
Help fundraise and run for freedom
Join me as I take my advocacy a step further by running and fundraising on behalf of Freedom 4/24 and Street Ransom in the Hokie Half. Today, choose to make a step towards ending human trafficking.
We are no longer accepting donations on this campaign, but there are other ways for you to support us today!
When my sister, Rebekah Marquez, began working
at Street Ransom, I learned about the frightening truth of sex trafficking.
While my knowledge of the topic and organization grew, I began to realize how
real this issue was through my experiences at school and various interactions. Because
this is so prevalent in our society and community without much realization to
most, I am ecstatic to participate in contributing to the fight against sex
trafficking and spread the news of the wonderful mission work these organizations
are accomplishing for God's kingdom.
Throughout the training process my goal is to raise $1,000 for victims and survivors of human trafficking. In addition to fundraising, as I train I will write the names of trafficking survivors on my arms, as motivation and a reminder of who I'm running for. The funds I raise will go towards Freedom 4/24 and their international partners working on the frontlines with victims and survivors of human trafficking in India, Uganda, and Thailand. The funds will also support Street Ransom, a non-profit providing direct services to trafficking and sexual exploitation victims in Roanoke. Join me as I run for freedom in Blacksburg, Virginia and give a voice to the voiceless.
