Help Me Fundraise and Run for Freedom

Join me as I take a step further by running and fundraising on behalf of Freedom 4/24 and Street Ransom in the Hokie Half Marathon on September 23.

Over the past six years, I have learned to love running. As some of you know, I have been known to go out and trail run for miles at a time loosing all thoughts of pain or fatigue. I love putting one foot in front of the other to get to the top of the mountain or wherever the trail takes me. This time I'm not running for myself. As I heard of the opportunity to run a half marathon I was excited. Not because I'd never done one before; it had a greater purpose and meaning. I would be running for someone else, for freedom of girls trapped in the slavery of sex trafficking.

Throughout the training process my goal is to raise $1,000 for victims and survivors of human trafficking. The funds I raise will go towards Freedom 4/24 and their international partners working on the frontlines with victims and survivors of human trafficking in India, Uganda, and Thailand. The funds will also support Street Ransom, a non-profit providing direct services to trafficking and sexual exploitation victims in Roanoke. I will also be volunteering with Street Ransom when the center opens.
